Well, this marks the beginning of the journey, so to speak.
My first blog comes as a result of just entering the Two Oceans Trail race for 2014. Last year this race sold out in the first 3 hours of entries becoming available, so my fingers were hot on the buttons get make sure I got an entry. The two oceans trail is becoming somewhat of an iconic race, following in the footsteps of the Two Oceans Marathon which is said to be one of the worlds most beautiful marathons.
For the trail race you have an option of the 10km or the more gruelling 22km. Both starting and finishing at UCT and making use of the slopes in and around Devils Peak. Be sure not to mistaken the 22km trail as a substitute for missing an entry for the 21km road. This 22km trail is definitely for the more experienced runner and is a great test of endurance with some quad breaking climbs and knee breaking descents.
However, if you are not pain junky, the 10 km trail is an awesome route for you. With a couple challenging climbs, this route lends its self to the less adventurous runner while still providing a great workout for the legs.

So, whether you are a seasoned runner or getting into it, the Two Oceans Trail is set to be an awesome day out yet again. So get that entry, put on your shoes and start training!
See you there
